Role Overview
As a Shift Lead, you will own infrastructure operations during the night shift, ensuring seamless system performance, effective incident management, and smooth shift transitions.
This is a hands-on technical + leadership role, requiring strong expertise in infrastructure along with ITSM discipline and team coordination skills.
Network & Infrastructure Operations
- Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure:
- Routing, switching, firewalls
- Configure and maintain:
- VPNs, IPSec tunnels, site-to-site connectivity
- Troubleshoot:
- Network latency, connectivity, and performance issues
Linux & Nginx Administration
- Administer Linux systems:
- Installation, configuration, patching, tuning, troubleshooting
- Manage Nginx:
- Web server, reverse proxy, load balancer
- Handle:
- SSL/TLS certificates
- Secure configurations
- Performance optimization
AWS Cloud Operations
- Manage AWS services:
- EC2, VPC, subnets, routing tables
- Security groups, NACLs, IAM
- Design and support:
- Network segmentation and hybrid connectivity
- Implement:
- AWS security best practices
- Access control and encryption
- Monitor:
o Availability, performance, and cost optimization
Monitoring, Observability & Reliability
- Use monitoring tools to track:
- System health, performance, availability
- Analyze:
- Logs, metrics, alerts
- Conduct:
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Implement preventive and reliability improvements
ITSM, Incident & Change Management
- Operate within ITSM frameworks:
- Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request
- Own incident resolution during shift
- Ensure SLA and OLA compliance
- Participate in:
- Change planning and execution
- Maintain:
- Documentation, runbooks, and shift logs
Shift Lead Responsibilities
- Lead night shift operations (9 PM – 7 AM)
- Assign and coordinate tasks across team members
- Ensure smooth shift handovers with clear communication
- Manage escalations and stakeholder communication
- Maintain operational discipline and compliance
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Network, Linux, and Cloud Operations
- Strong expertise in:
- Linux system administration
- Nginx configuration and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with:
- AWS (VPC, networking, security, IAM)
- Knowledge of:
- VPN, IPSec, site-to-site connectivity
- Experience with:
- Monitoring and observability tools
- Exposure to:
- 24x7 or shift-based environments
- Strong understanding of:
- ITSM processes and operational governance
- Good leadership, communication, and coordination skills
Certifications
- Mandatory / Strongly Preferred
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate OR AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- Linux Certifications (RHCSA / RHCE or equivalent)

- CCNA / CCNP
- Security certifications
